P1Harmony “Utop1a Tour” in Oakland, CA

June 14, 2024 - P1Harmony’s performance at Oakland Arena was a night full of energy from the six members - Keeho, Theo, Jiung, Intak, Soul, and Jongseob - reciprocated by their passionate fans - P1eces.

Before even entering the venue, I could feel the fans’ excitement as they lined up at the gate. Walking around with their lightsticks, posters, cutouts of the members’ faces, and handing out freebies to each other - Oakland P1eces created a sense of community as they eagerly waited for the show to start.

When the lights dimmed and all six members emerged from a rising platform, the room filled with deafening screams from their fans. They lit up the room with colorful lights as they waved their lightsticks, welcoming P1Harmony back to Oakland.

This was also Jiung’s first performance back after being out for over a month due to an injury. P1eces gave him a warm welcome back, and Jiung performed at 100% after his recovery.

“P1Harmony is six, and when P1Harmony is not six I start getting worried” said Keeho. “But now that Jiung is here, there’s just that extra comfort and confidence that we’re gonna do good tonight.”

After warming up the crowd, each member displayed their talents with solo performances - starting with Theo’s cover of Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez. Eliciting screams and even barking from the crowd, Intak performed a sensual dance routine to On My Mama by Victoria Monet. Jongseob made his way down the catwalk to Praise The Lord by ASAP Rocky, the crowd chanting along. Soul then showed off his dance moves to an instrumental track. The lights dimmed red as Keeho emerged on stage with a sword for a cover of Kill Bill by SZA. Last but not least, Jiung showed that he was more than ready to be back on stage with his cover of Baby by Justin Bieber.

“I chose Baby for my solo stage to make people enjoy it as much as they can,” said Jiung. “It’s such a memorable song.”

The group came back for an encore by walking through the aisles of the crowd. This allowed everyone in the venue to get closer to the group, who even stopped to receive gifts and take selfies with fans. They came back on stage holding their gifts, creating a special memory for many P1eces. Although the crowd was not ready for the show to end, the group reassured them that they would be back in Oakland again.

“We can’t wait to see you guys again soon, thank you guys so much,” said Keeho.

The group had great stage presence, with elaborate dance moves and powerful vocals from each member. Although I didn’t know any of their songs, which would usually lead to a dull experience, the group kept me on my feet and I left the show a fan.
