Tanerélle on “The Electric Honey Tour” in San Francisco, CA
Tanerélle performed to a packed house at The Independent in San Francisco, CA as part of her Electric Honey Tour this past Friday. The Atlanta-born R&B artist embarked on the tour in November, following the release of her new EP, Electric Honey.
The lights dimmed as the show intro started playing over the speakers, a narration from Tanerélle. The room filled with anticipation as the LED lights on stage started changing colors before they all turned off. From the moment she took the stage, she commanded the room with her magnetic presence and unmistakable vocal talent.
The crowd seemed mesmerized by her fluid movements and sultry vocals, as she towered over the crowd and made her way around the stage. Her rhinestone bodysuit perfectly complimented her seductive but elegant stage presence.
One of the night’s memorable moments was when she performed an a cappella segment that entranced everyone in the room. The crowd erupted in cheers that wouldn’t stop, showing just how powerful and mesmerizing her voice is.
In between songs, Tanerélle took many moments to talk to the audience. She was able to create an intimate experience by conversing with the crowd about relatable personal experiences that her songs are based on. “I like writing about love and my friends, and I love writing about life and my dreams, just the human experience,” said Tanerélle. She then asked the crowd to help her sing her song “Continuum,” and taught them the lyrics. The crowd gladly agreed and rehearsed it with her. This created a playful call-and-response with the audience throughout the song, as the crowd collectively belted out the line she asked them to echo.
The energy shifted during “Lovin’ you”, a provocative song from her 2022 album 82 Moons. She continued to mesmerize the crowd with a confident, seductive chair dance during an instrumental break in the song. Every move was met with applause and cheers, showing how much the crowd loved her.
She continued to share personal stories and reflections, later explaining the story behind her song “Love from NGC7318,” which she wrote about a girl she had only known for six hours. “Think about the state of delusion I was in writing this song,” she joked, drawing laughs and knowing nods from many who have felt the same before. Toward the end of the night, she dedicated “Better Days” to the audience, reminding everyone that "today is a better day." The crowd warmly embraced the sentiment, singing along with hopeful smiles.
Through mesmerizing vocals, captivating storytelling, and intimate crowd interactions, Tanerélle created an unforgettable experience at her show. She captivated the audience from start to finish with her ability to command the stage while fostering a personal connection with her audience.
