Young Miko XOXO Tour - Sold Out Show in Wheatland, CA

August 3, 2024 - The rising star, Young Miko, played a sold out show this past weekend at the Hard Rock Live - Sacramento. This was the second stop of the XOXO tour, which will be bringing the Puerto-Rican singer to 19 cities across the country.

Fans definitely dressed up for the occasion, many wearing outfits similar to Young Miko’s style. There seemed to be an unspoken dress code among fans - speaking for her fans’ enthusiasm. The colors pink, blue, and purple were prevalent among attendees, matching the aesthetic of the new album Att. About an hour before the show started, a loading visual showed up on the screen. It showed a line of hearts which slowly filled up from left to right as it got closer to 9pm. The lights turned off when the hearts finished loading, and fans rushed to their seats as Miko took the stage.

Miko’s stage design was elaborate and on theme. She sang the first song “rookie of the year” from a purple bed, with an adorned bedroom which resembled her Att. album cover as the background set.

She followed with “oye ma’”, where she seamlessly mixes English and Spanish for a gritty song where she highlights her self-confidence and sense of empowerment. The repeated and catchy phrase “oye ma’” gave the audience a chance to join in and chant along to this dance hit.

During the first pause, the audience began chanting “Miko” repeatedly. This happened many times throughout the show, becoming seemingly louder each time. She took time to talk to the audience about her next song “en la pichi interlude” before performing the song on a new stage set.

“I don’t know if this has happened to anyone, when we feel a certain way or don’t understand how we feel,” said Miko. “We would like to talk about it, but… we can’t find the words.” She added that it’s moments like this where she tries to write songs to express those feelings. The song was slower, talking about shared experiences of distance and desire for someone.

She further showed her ability to connect with her fans when she paused to read people’s signs. “I’m seeing a lot of signs, I want to see what they say,” said Miko. She reacted to many of them such as “baby Miko is my type” and “invite me backstage”. Her lighthearted and comical banter further showed her charming and warm personality as well as her ability to connect with fans. Miko also took gifts from fans, including flowers and a bag of her favorite candy.

She performed the second half of her set in a new outfit - black joggers and a black and white top with a heart in the middle. The stage design was also drastically different, as she emerged with a giant boombox behind her. Miko ended the show with three of her dance hits - “CLASSY 101”, “Bzrp music sessions, Vol. 58”, and “curita”. The venue filled with confetti throughout the last 2 songs, many fans leaving  the venue with confetti streamers wrapped around them. Miko’s confidence, stage presence, and her many hit songs point to a bright future for the rising star.
