Dayglow: The Tour in Denver, Colorado

Dayglow spent a cheerful night in Denver, Colorado. The band full of alternative indie pop hits started off their tour, “Dayglow: The Tour”, strong in early September. With the opening band Sun Room, this was their last night on tour with Dayglow. They started off with the perfect opening songs, “Junior Varsity/Broken Bone”, “Silver Lining”, and “Hot Rod”. They began the night full of energy, keeping the crowd hyped up throughout.

Lead singer Sloan seemed absolutely thrilled to be there, his face lit up with a smile when he took a quick breather between songs, as the lights showed the crowd. His enthusiasm and awe was written on his face, his eyes scanning the crowd, taking it all in. His warm smile was enough to brighten the room. You could really tell they were rocking with the room.

“I love Denver,” said Sloan, in a sincere tone, which caused the crowd to cheer in response, letting him know the feeling was mutual. Denver loves you too, Dayglow.

The crowd was taken on a full ride full of the band's classics, from the OG hits from their 2019 album Fuzzybrain, to the new ones from their newest album that came out this year, ironically called Dayglow. I roamed around the balcony, the back, and the front, it’s safe to say I felt the excitement and love from the fans in every corner of the room. People were dancing, some went full out wearing glow in the dark sunglasses and light up headbands. While the crowd was a little shy in the back, towards the end of the show people were having their own little dance moments, including myself. I couldn’t help but join in as it was only right.

In that moment, the Dayglow community felt like one, everyone taking in and thriving in this band's music. I almost didn’t want the night to end. But of course, all good things must come to an end. They closed the night with “Can I Call You Tonight”, “Close To You”, “False Direction”, “Listerine”, and “Run The World!!!!”, giving everyone one last chance to dance for the night with back to back bangers. Hearing these songs live was ethereal, it was truly a dance party in Denver.
