You’ll Be Alright, Kid: The Tour — Alex Warren With Support From Michael Sanzone

Alex Warren's performance at The Constellation Room in Orange County was a standout show on his "You’ll Be Alright, Kid" tour. It showcased the intimacy of his music and his connection with fans. The tour kicked off in September and will conclude in Los Angeles in November. Joining him on stage are Tim Spier (drummer), Ryan Hoffman (guitarist), with support from Michael Sanzone, and Pat McCloskey (Michael’s guitarist).

Alex and Michael first claimed their fame on social media, being part of the TikTok Hype House. However, since leaving the house they both started making and releasing music about their life and experiences. Since releasing music, Alex has grown in popularity with songs like “Burning Down” and “Carry You Home”. Being his roommate and friend, Alex asked Michael to open for his tour despite his newness to performing. Both singers put on an amazing show with their personalities and musicality.

Michael Sanzone is new to the music industry; this tour being his first live performances. His music reflects his life with songs being about relationships or dealing with loss. In Santa Ana, his family made an appearance in the audience, cheering him on throughout his show, making it feel more personal. Supporting him on guitar for the tour is Pat McCloskey. In the middle of his set, Pat plays a cover song for the crowd to sing along, he started with “Since You’ve Been Gone” by Kelly Clarkson, then switched to “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk The Moon, where Michael joined in. Michael’s vocals along with Pat’s guitar solo made a beautiful cover that everyone in the crowd enjoyed.

Alex’s music reflects both the good and bad in his life with happy songs about his relationship with Kouvr, and sad songs about his childhood and parents. The nature of his lyrics brought fans to make signs relating to him and how much he has helped them get through it. In response, he says that his music may have helped, but their strength is what really gets them through. He credits much of the lighthearted pop sounds despite the heart wrenching lyrics to his drummer, Tim Spier.

Alex performed ten released songs including “Burning Down”, “One More I Love You”, “Before You Leave Me”, and “Carry You Home”. He also sang a cover of “Someone Like You” by Adele and an unreleased song, “Buying Flowers”, which he wrote and performed with Michael Sanzone. Alex and Michael already being good friends only added to their performance and chemistry making fans eager for the release.

Alex had many interactions with the crowd throughout the show. His quick humor and sassy personality made it feel like both a music concert and a comedy show. Fans interacted by holding up signs or giving him gifts. One fan pointed out that she grew up on the same street and went to the same schools as Alex, and another gave him a bouquet of roses. After singing “Carry You Home”, he saw a sign from a little boy, Roro, asking to sing it with him. He invited him onto the stage to sing the song with him again. The crowd cheered on Roro as he sang,  making it a memorable experience for him, his family, and everyone else in the crowd. Additionally, a fan-organized project had the crowd holding up paper butterfly cutouts reading “Look How Far You’ve Come.”

Overall, the evening was filled with heartfelt songs and playful interactions, showing not only their musical talents but also their genuine camaraderie. Moving forward as artists, I can’t wait to see how they grow and find new ways to relate to their listeners. This show was a reminder of how music and love can bring people of all ages and backgrounds together for a memorable experience.
