Juniper Honey brings the Southern California sun to the Bay Area

Juniper Honey played an intimate set at Brick and Mortar Hall in San Francisco, CA last Thursday. They are an indie band from Southern California, composed of Jake Hesse (lead vocals/guitar), Donovan Hess (drums), Cason LeSueur (guitar), and Josh West (bass).

The young band took a hands-on approach, setting up their own gear as the crowd eagerly moved closer to the stage. As the lights dimmed, a quiet excitement built in the room, with fans patiently waiting for the show to begin. The first song opened with a mellow acoustic riff. However, the energy quickly surged as the lead singer switched to an electric guitar, kicking off a vibrant surf rock sound that had many dancing and singing along.

This marked their second time in San Francisco, and the lead singer warmly thanked the crowd for coming. The band was only three dates into their tour, playing with a tight and dynamic energy. They switched instruments throughout the night, showing off their versatility. Especially during a slower, atmospheric song with a dreamy and psychedelic sound.

The crowd’s energy peaked just before the encore when the band played their hit, “Looking at You.” Cheers erupted as the first notes rang out, and many fans sang along passionately.. The night ended on a good note, with the audience cheering them off with waves of applause —a fitting end to a fantastic night of live music.
