Satellites World Tour -  The Script in Silver Spring, MD

The evening began like any other. The weather slowly turned chilly, the roads became filled with cars rushing to get to their next destination and a line circled around one of the most brightest buildings in Silver Spring also known as the Fillmore. It was only 5 o’clock in the afternoon but the anticipation grew in the air as many fans eagerly waited for the special night ahead. That night was on Monday, October 7th, 2024, where Irish pop-rock band The Script joined Marylanders in celebrating the release of their 7th studio album Satellites.

Since the year 2001, The Script has touched the souls of many generations with their music including top hits such as “Breakeven,” “Hall of Fame,” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.” Using catchy melodies, piano-driven ballads, and influential lyrics, they have managed to take the number one spot in Ireland for each and every one of their studio albums…and this one is no different. After the unfortunate death of their bandmate Mark Sheehan in 2023, the band released their album Satellites in remembrance of the legacy they created together and its importance to carry on.

The show itself reflects their motivation to carry on and continue the legacy they have strived towards for years. With the use of great acoustics, fan interaction and engaging stage presence, they filled the venue with a feeling of nostalgia and great warmth. Incorporating a diverse set of songs ranging for almost each one of their albums including Satellites, they provided a space for many fans to carry the songs on their own and serenade the band in a way that expresses gratitude for their contribution to the pop-rock genre.

The night ended on a positive note as the band closed their show with “Hall of Fame” leaving many fans feeling inspired. If you ever find yourself stumbling upon a show near you, I would highly recommend buying that ticket and experiencing The Script live!
